What you’ll be doing:
- As an IOL Specialist reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for promoting intraocular lenses which are implants used in cataract surgery.
- You will spend a significant amount of time in theatre where you will be detailing the products to ophthalmologists as well as other relevant clinical staff.
- As a lot of cataract procedures are now done in private clinics, you\\\’ll be engaging a lot with private healthcare providers as well as the NHS.
- As part of the surgical team you will work collaboratively with internal colleagues such as Equipment Specialists, Business Development and Commercial teams to identify and close sales and gain new business.
- \\\\\’ll be involved in a number of new product launches, so will need to be comfortable speaking to surgeons about new products.
Here’s what you need:
- Proven success as a medical device sales representative
- Experience within the surgical setting (highly advantageous)
- Previous exposure to intraocular lenses (IOLs) is a significant bonus
- Strong scientific understanding or the ability to quickly grasp technical product detail
- A developmental mindset, strong work ethic and clear goal orientation
- Ability to sell consultatively, focusing on value rather than price
