We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Home Ownership Officer to join our Housing & Leasehold Management team in Witney, Oxfordshire. This is a rewarding opportunity where you will support applicants with long-term disabilities to purchase a share of a property through the HOLD (Home Ownership for people with Long-Term Disabilities) shared ownership scheme. You will guide customers through every stage of their journey—from initial assessment through to completion—ensuring they receive high-quality support and achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess applicants for the HOLD shared ownership scheme and provide timely decisions
- Support customers through the full journey from application to completion
- Advise on property selection and negotiate best value within budget
- Manage relationships with agents, solicitors, and external partners
- Oversee conveyancing and ensure smooth progression of cases
- Build referral networks with local authorities and social care professionals
- Promote home ownership products through engagement and events
- Maintain accurate records and support handover processes
About You
- Experience in housing, property sales and purchases, or a similar environment
- Knowledge of shared ownership schemes and the process of buying and selling properties is desirable
- Previous experience or understanding of the Social Housing sector is desirable
- Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and the ability to build effective relationships
- Compassionate and professional approach
- Organized and capable of managing varied workload efficiently to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
- Confident using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Collaborative team player who works well across teams and with external partners
- Customer-focused, with empathy and experience and knowledge in supporting people with disabilities
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering positive outcomes
- Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work from home when required
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and on your own
- Confident and courteous telephone manners
- Self-motivated and willing to learn new skills when required
- Full clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
