Are you an experienced evidence, insights and business intelligence leader looking for an opportunity to drive organisational impact within a values‑led organisation? Advance is seeking a Consultant Lead for Evidence and Insights to provide strategic leadership for our evidence, evaluation and business intelligence function, helping us strengthen our impact, influence policy and improve outcomes for women and girls.

Location: Hybrid working, with attendance at our Hammersmith office and other locations as required

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week, we are flexible about which days and hours are worked and this will need to adapt to organisational needs

Contract: Consultancy contract (until 1st May, with potential for extension)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Development and Engagement, the Consultant Lead for Evidence and Insights will provide strategic leadership for Advance's evidence, evaluation, monitoring and business intelligence functions. You will lead the organisation's approach to data, insight and impact measurement, ensuring that evidence is used to inform decision‑making, improve services, demonstrate outcomes and strengthen Advance's influence across the sector. A key priority will be leading the development and implementation of Power BI as Advance's strategic reporting and business intelligence platform. You will establish robust reporting frameworks, dashboards and data visualisation tools that provide meaningful insights to operational teams, senior leaders and trustees. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will oversee organisational reporting, strengthen data quality, develop impact measurement approaches and identify opportunities to use evidence and learning to drive innovation, service improvement and growth. You will also provide leadership and support to the Evidence and Insights team, including regular supervision, one‑to‑one meetings, coaching and professional development.

About You

  • You are a strategic and influential leader with significant experience in evidence, insights, research, monitoring and evaluation, or business intelligence.
  • Significant experience leading evidence, insights, research, monitoring and evaluation, or business intelligence functions.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience translating complex quantitative and qualitative data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Experience designing and delivering executive dashboards, performance reporting and impact measurement frameworks.
  • Experience managing and developing teams, including conducting one‑to‑one meetings, performance reviews and coaching.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders, commissioners, funders and external partners.
  • Experience using data and insight to inform organisational strategy, service development and operational improvement.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences.
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for women and girls and promoting evidence‑based practice.
