Please note this is not a Swansea city council job. You will be working with a private client who received direct payments.

A little about myself:

I am a young gentleman with profound learning difficulties living a life full of joy, growth, and independence. We’re a family-led team working hands-on to develop daily living skills, confidence, and social engagement. Despite significant challenges - including epilepsy, autistic traits, and mild deafness. I am non-verbal but expressive, cheeky, and full of personality. With the right support, I thrive. I am looking for a Patient, observant, and emotionally intelligent PA to be part of my team. Experience in behavioural support is welcome but not essential—full training is provided, including sessions with our Behavioural Consultant.

Driver required to take me out.

Male / female preferred.

Hours of work

41 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm and Wednesday 7.30am to 4.30pm

Rate of pay.

£13.50 per hour

Essential:

  • Be creative, dynamic, and able to think on their feet
  • Be willing to learn and adapt as my needs evolve
  • Be in good general health and physical condition, with the stamina to support an active daily routine
  • Be comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and pushing a wheelchair
  • Be a confident driver with a full UK or EU driving licence and access to a reliable car
  • Be educated to A-level standard or with relevant experience
  • Be fluent in English (spoken and written) with basic maths skills
  • Be empathetic and enthusiastic about working with individuals with special needs

Desirable

  • You have previous experience.

I’d like support with

  • Washing showering and dressing
  • Personal care, changing pad and toileting
  • Daily day to day tasks
  • Administering medication (put ready up by mum)

I will need my PA to:

  • Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
  • Be confident, mature and have patience.
  • Be dependable and arrive on time.
  • Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
  • Be adaptable and flexible.
  • Be supportive but not take over.

Concerning the position

A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
