Adult Literacy Trust are looking for an organised, experienced and personable Fundraising Manager to oversee the development and execution of strategies to secure financial support, build donor relationships, and ensure sustainable funding for the organisation’s mission and programme. The Manager will take the lead in raising funds for the charity by developing relationships with and coordinating successful applications to trusts, foundations, corporate partners and high net worth individuals.

Now in our third year of operations, ALT has successfully fundraised for our operational income needs principally from several dozen trusts & foundations, several corporate grants, and a small number of generous individual donations. Managed and executed directly by the Board of Trustees to date – with the assistance of external contractors/agencies as needed – our strategy continues to be primarily to target charitable trusts and foundations (particularly those that support educational opportunities, poverty reduction and disadvantage/social mobility), livery companies and grant-makers. But the charity is looking now to recruit our first in-house resource to help both (a) expand our trust & foundation giving into higher average grant amounts and multi-year grants, and (b) develop further opportunities for corporate partnerships and high-value individual giving, which have not yet been a priority and where we believe there is considerable untapped potential.
