Overview
Residential Children’s Practitioner – Children with Disabilities | 8714 | Casual Contract | £13.68 per hour plus sleep-in allowance, weekend and bank holiday enhancements | Grade E | Countywide. Countywide posts in Norwich and Kings Lynn (Springwood, Foxwood, Marshfields and CWD Outreach Team).
Responsibilities
- Provide meaningful day-to-day activities to children and young people with disabilities to develop their emotional and social needs by building positive relationships and to enhance independence skills.
- Provide personal intimate care such as feeding, washing, toileting, dressing, hoisting, administering medication and other health care tasks, as appropriate to training and delegation of clinical procedures in line with guidelines.
Qualifications and requirements
- Willingness to work towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Child Care (funded).
- Full induction and training programme provided.
- Ability to form effective relationships with children with disabilities; life experiences, personal strength and positive attitude.
- Availability to work across the whole week, including weekends and bank holidays; may include unsociable hours, night work, sleep-ins and being part of the on-call rota.
- Experience not required; candidates may be new to care or seeking a change.
Location and teams
Countywide posts in Norwich and Kings Lynn (Springwood, Foxwood, Marshfields and CWD Outreach Team). Teams include specialist emergency residential and time-limited residential home, two short break homes and an outreach team working directly with families and professionals.
