Practice Consultant – Social Worker 8844 | Permanent contract | £43,822 to £48,227 per annum (Scale K) | 37 hours per week | Julian Hospital, Norwich

We offer a £2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Based at Julian Hospital in Norwich (for adults in later life, 65+). Ward teams cover organic (Dementia) and functional (e.g., Bi-Polar/Schizophrenia) mental health needs.
  • As a Practice Consultant, be part of a small, friendly, multidisciplinary team working to promote wellbeing for people in later life living with mental health conditions.
  • Develop managerial skills and extend specialist knowledge and skills in older persons mental health.
  • Support from admission through discharge and review, in collaboration with ward social workers and the broader MDT.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (SWE)
  • Ability to work in Norfolk with hybrid/face-to-face meetings as required (twice weekly MDT and discharge meetings; Section 117 reviews and mental health tribunals)
