We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper to work with a leading housing association in the Macclesfield area supporting clients experiencing homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
Salary: £13.45 p/h
Immediate Start: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
About the Role: We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our accommodation and communal areas. You will play an important role in ensuring residents live in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. Working as part of the wider team, you will undertake cleaning duties, report maintenance concerns, and help ensure the service remains presentable and compliant with health and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail, and enjoys making a positive difference to the environments where people live.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain communal areas, offices, bathrooms, kitchens, and other designated spaces.
- Ensure accommodation is cleaned and prepared to a high standard for new residents.
- Carry out regular housekeeping duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising, and waste disposal.
- Replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and other consumable items as required.
- Report maintenance issues, health and safety concerns, or property damage to the appropriate person.
- Support the turnaround of vacant rooms and properties to ensure they are ready for occupancy.
- Follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks within agreed timescales.
- Ensure all cleaning products and equipment are used and stored safely.
- Maintain accurate records where required.
- Work in accordance with health and safety policies, infection control procedures, and organisational standards.
About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience, preferably within residential, supported housing, healthcare, hospitality, or similar environments.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- A reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work positively with colleagues and residents.
- An understanding of health and safety and safe working practices.
- A respectful and professional approach when working around residents and visitors.
- Driver is preferred.
- Candidates should have a current, enhanced DBS certificate; if you do not hold a valid DBS Certificate, you must be willing to apply for one.
