ASE Recruitment are specialist recruiters in the social housing and social care sectors providing temporary staffing to work within a variety of 24 hour supported accommodation services and floating support services for Housing Associations and Charities across the Northwest, Midlands, and Derbyshire. We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Housing Officer to work with a leading housing association in the Congleton area supporting clients experiencing homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.
Salary: £13.89 p/h. Full time temporary role which can develop into a full time permanent role for the right candidate - On rota Earlies and Lates and one weekend in 4.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Tenancy Sustainment & Support Coordinator to deliver person-centred support and tenancy management services to individuals living in supported accommodation. You will work closely with residents to help them maintain their accommodation, develop independent living skills, access relevant services, and achieve positive outcomes. Alongside support delivery, you will assist with tenancy management, resident engagement, property standards, and partnership working to ensure safe, sustainable accommodation and successful move-on opportunities. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting vulnerable people, preventing homelessness, and helping individuals achieve greater independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of residents, delivering person-centred support plans and regular reviews.
- Support residents to develop independent living skills including budgeting, tenancy responsibilities, health, wellbeing, and accessing education, training or employment.
- Assist residents to sustain their accommodation and prevent tenancy breakdown through early intervention and practical support.
- Complete assessments, support plans, risk assessments, and maintain accurate case records.
- Work alongside housing management teams to address rent arrears, tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns.
- Support referrals, assessments, allocations, move-ins, and move-on arrangements.
- Conduct regular welfare visits and property inspections to ensure accommodation standards are maintained.
- Promote resident involvement and encourage participation in activities, workshops, and community opportunities.
- Liaise with statutory, voluntary, and community organisations to secure positive outcomes for residents.
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders, referral agencies, landlords, and partner organisations.
- Ensure all support and housing management activities comply with safeguarding, health and safety, GDPR, and organisational policies.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, young people, homeless individuals, or those with complex needs.
- Knowledge of tenancy sustainment, homelessness prevention, housing support, or supported accommodation services.
- Experience creating support plans, conducting risk assessments, and managing caseloads.
- Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and person-centred support approaches.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents and external agencies.
- Experience managing challenging situations professionally and calmly.
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate electronic records.
- A flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience within housing, supported accommodation, homelessness, or social care services.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits, housing options, and move-on pathways.
- Relevant qualification in Housing, Social Care, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or a related field.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (Mandatory).
