We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. This position is for a Waking Night Support. Provide overnight support to individuals in their own home, remaining fully awake and alert overnight to provide continuous, responsive support, ensuring safety, security, and well-being for vulnerable elderly adults with Dementia, Parkinson's and other disabilities. Duties include assisting with personal care, continence care, transfers, medication administration and emotional support. The location where you would be based is rural, so a full driving licence is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide constant supervision (if required) - remain awake, alert throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of the individual you are supporting.
- Offer immediate support - respond instantly to requests for assistance, whether for personal care, emotional distress or concerns.
- Provide personal care - assisting with showering, washing, dressing, toileting, continence care and transfers in and out of bed / repositioning.
- Monitor health - conduct observations of the individual overnight, manage medication.
- Documentation - maintain professional records and complete nightly care logs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to work every other weekend - Saturday and Sunday
- Must be patient and empathetic
- Kind and caring nature
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Resilience to work independently whilst remaining awake during the night
- Minimum two years experience in providing care and support
- Must have the right to work in the UK - we are unable to provide sponsorship.
