We are seeking a highly motivated Laser Operative.
Role ProfileThe role is to cut dimensionally accurate components that comply with clients' drawings using Trumpf laser machines.
Responsibilities- Set and operate Trumpf laser cutting machines: Adjust laser cutting machines according to customer requirements.
- Material and program verification: Confirm that the material and NC (Numerical Control) program align with job pack specifications.
- Optimise material usage: Utilise offcuts efficiently and request re-programming when necessary.
- Quality control: Perform quality checks on each cut, taking appropriate action if cut quality declines. Monitor cut quality during longer jobs to maintain high standards.
- Part inspection: Inspect parts for correctness and ensure they are free from damage before proceeding with subsequent processes.
- Special attention to surfaces: Minimise damage to all surfaces, especially stainless steel (polished/grained) and anodised finishes.
- Offcut labelling: Ensure proper labelling of all offcuts with purchase order, material grade, material finish, and sheet size.
- Machine maintenance: Clean trays and tidy the work area at the end of each shift. Regularly clean laser machines, maintaining correct water and oil levels.
- Recordkeeping: Accurately record times on Oseon (Trumpf software). Complete all paperwork (job pack) correctly and provide feedback for increased productivity or error reduction.
- Communication: Communicate any relevant information to management that could improve productivity or prevent future errors.
