We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to take ownership of our purchasing function, with a strong focus on sheet metal procurement, fabrication, and subcontract manufacturing.
You will be responsible for sourcing steel, aluminum, stainless steel and galvanised materials, as well as managing subcontract suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effective, and on-time delivery to support our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase sheet metal materials and fabricated components.
- Manage subcontract suppliers including laser cutting, folding, welding, machining and finishing services.
- Raise, manage and expedite purchase orders to meet production schedules.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times and supplier agreements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while identifying new sourcing opportunities.
- Identify cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records using ERP/MRP systems (Sage, Lantek and HubSpot).
- Work closely with Production and Planning to ensure continuity of supply.
About You
- Proven purchasing experience within a manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of steel, aluminum, stainless steel and galvanised materials.
- Experience managing subcontract manufacturing and fabrication suppliers.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- Good IT skills with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
