We provide bespoke to volume sheet metal solutions for customers across engineering, transport, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries. Operating from an 87,000 sq. ft facility and employing over 100 people, ADS combines modern equipment with robust processes and experienced teams to deliver consistent quality, lead times, and service. We are looking to appoint a motivated and commercially focused Key Account Manager to develop customer relationships, convert opportunities into revenue, and contribute to the long-term success of the business.
Role Profile: Drive sustainable and profitable company growth through a balanced focus on managing and expanding a portfolio of existing customer accounts while proactively developing new business opportunities. The role requires consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets, building long-term customer relationships, and executing structured strategic sales plans to support revenue growth and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Key Account Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of assigned key accounts, ensuring long term relationships and consistent revenue growth.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and identify opportunities for additional products and services.
- Conduct regular account reviews and meetings to strengthen partnerships and increase wallet share.
- Act as the main commercial contact for key customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Convert repeat enquiries into orders through proactive communication and negotiation.
- Maintain accurate, up to date customer records and opportunity tracking within HubSpot CRM.
- Identify risks within accounts and implement retention strategies where required.
- New Business Development
- Identify, target, and secure new customers in line with the company’s growth strategy.
- Build and manage a structured pipeline of new opportunities using CRM.
- Develop tailored account plans for prospective clients.
- Work closely with marketing to support lead generation campaigns and outreach activity.
- Present solutions to new customers and manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to close.
- Negotiate pricing, margins, and contract terms to secure profitable new business.
- CRM & Sales Process Ownership
- Maintain accurate, complete, and update records of all sales activity within HubSpot.
- Ensure all enquiries, quotations, follow-ups, and outcomes are correctly logged.
- Support data quality initiatives, including duplicate management and record hygiene.
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Generate weekly and monthly sales reports, analysing performance against targets and identifying improvement areas.
- Track sales trends to inform future strategies.
- Any other reasonable management request.
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes
- Essential
- Minimum 4 years' B2B sales experience.
- Proven track record in account management and new business development.
- Experience within sheet metal fabrication, subcontract manufacturing, precision engineering, or a related engineering sector.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Commercially focused with experience managing quotations, tenders, and margins.
- Experience using CRM systems and managing sales pipelines.
- Self motivated, organised, and results driven.
- Strong IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence.

- Technical understanding of laser cutting, fabrication, welding, finishing, and related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
- Existing network within manufacturing, construction, rail, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Experience with Lantek (ERP) and or HubSpot (CRM).
- HNC/HND or other engineering related qualification.
