We are seeking a highly motivated CAD Programmer.

Role Profile:

The role is to produce high quality, dimensionally accurate engineering drawings and CNC programs for the manufacturing of sheet metal components according to client orders and specifications. The Programmer will translate client requirements into precise CAD/CAM designs, develop CNC programs for laser cutting and press brake operations, and support fabrication teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of both programming and the practical aspects of sheet metal fabrication, including bending, forming, and assembly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create accurate CAD/CAM flat pattern drawings in line with client specifications.
  • Develop CNC programs for laser cutting, punching, and press brake operations.
  • Produce folding, forming, and assembly instructions for fabrication operators.
  • Monitor, review, and document changes to CNC programs and drawings.
  • Maintain clear drawing control systems and program records.
  • Review and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency, reduce material waste, and ensure manufacturability.
  • Collaborate closely with fabrication teams to support bending, welding, and assembly processes.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs prior to production to prevent errors.
  • Provide excellent customer service and build strong client relationships.
  • Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and innovation within the fabrication workflow.
Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes:
  • Experience of CNC programming or a relevant CNC Programming qualification.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (sheet metal design experience essential).
  • Ability to read and create CAD drawings for manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office and CAD / CAM software.
  • Experience of Oseon / Lantek software is desirable.
  • Self-motivated and focused, with a flexible attitude.
  • Good attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy & a commitment to quality.
