We are seeking a highly experienced professional to lead interoperability initiatives within NHS projects. This role focuses on ensuring seamless data exchange across healthcare systems, compliance with NHS standards, and driving digital transformation through robust integration frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Interoperability Leadership: Define and implement interoperability strategies aligned with NHS standards and policies. Ensure compliance with HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, and NHS Interoperability Toolkit (ITK).
- Solution Architecture & Integration: Design and oversee integration patterns for Electronic Patient Records (EPR) and other healthcare systems. Collaborate with technical teams to implement APIs and integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth).
- Data Governance & Compliance: Enforce GDPR, HIPAA, and NHS data security standards. Maintain data quality, integrity, and governance across systems.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with NHS Trusts, clinicians, and IT teams to ensure interoperability objectives are met. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to integration developers and architects.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Stay updated on emerging interoperability standards and technologies. Drive adoption of packaged business capabilities and technology-agnostic models.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD-10, GS1 barcoding. Experience with NHS Interoperability Toolkit (ITK) and API frameworks. Proficiency in integration engines (e.g., Rhapsody, Mirth) and messaging standards.
- Professional Background: Minimum 8-10 years in healthcare IT with at least 5 years in interoperability-focused roles. Proven experience in NHS projects or similar healthcare environments.
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex integration programs.
Desirable Skills
