Contract Type: Onsite Requirement: On sight working 40% minimum, 50% target.

Clearance: SC Cleared required - preference for this to be held by the candidate.

The consultant will act as product lead for changes to our ISO messaging standard. We have an annual release cycle for updates to our message set. The majority of the responsibilities relate to the 2027 release cycle – analysing required change, prioritising it and communicating it to stakeholders. The consultant will also pick up some items related to changes to the message set in 2026. Ideally, the role holder will have expertise in ISO 20022 payment messages.

Key Responsibilities

  • For the 2026 release cycle:
    • The release is well in progress and led by a Project Manager and delivery team.
    • The consultant will act as business liaison - facilitating rapid issue triage and resolution, coordinating across teams to unblock progress and maintain momentum.
    • They may also be required to support certification questions – ensuring issues relating to participant readiness are understood and responded to promptly.
  • For the 2027 release cycle:
    • Seek and analyse stakeholder feedback on the content of the next release, helping shape future scope. This will include both internal stakeholders (change driven by our product teams) and external stakeholders (those which use the RTGS service).
    • Ensure all change requests are understood, sized and prioritised. This will include detailed analysis of change at a schema level to understand the wider impact on our product set.
    • Support the development of industry facing materials – both to request items for change, and (where relevant) to explain scope decisions, ensuring these are of required quality and aligned to agreed objectives.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in product delivery or a related topic.
  • Knowledge of working with the ISO 20022 message set.
  • Experience turning stakeholder feedback into business designs and requirements.
  • Ability to seek and analyse stakeholder feedback to inform prioritisation.
  • Strong ability to produce external documentation on technical topics, in an understandable format.
