Senior Test Lead – Meditech EPR
We are hiring Meditech EPR Functional and Unit Testing position in Norwich, UK.

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Lead with strong expertise in Meditech Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementations to lead and manage testing workstreams across a large-scale healthcare transformation programme. The role will be pivotal in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of EPR deployments, working closely with NHS stakeholders, clinical teams, and Wipro’s delivery organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end testing strategy for Meditech EPR implementation, including functional, integration, performance, regression, user acceptance testing and go-live testing.
- Collaborate with programme leadership, solution architects, and clinical SMEs to ensure test scenarios and scripts align with clinical workflows and NHS requirements.
- Define and enforce testing standards, processes, and governance frameworks across the EPR programme.
- Create an automation framework for testing across functional, integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Manage and mentor a team of test managers, analysts, and automation engineers.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed test plans, test scripts, and traceability matrices mapped to programme requirements.
- Manage defect lifecycle, root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution with Meditech vendor and system integrators.
- Drive automation opportunities in EPR testing using appropriate tools.
- Ensure compliance with NHS Digital, Data Security & Protection Toolkit, and patient safety regulations.
- Provide regular reporting of test progress, risks, and outcomes to programme leadership and client stakeholders.
- Act as a senior client-facing leader representing Wipro on quality and assurance matters.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of IT testing/QA experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
- Mandatory: Proven hands-on experience in Meditech EPR implementations.
- Added Advantage: Experience with other Tier 1 EPRs such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, or similar healthcare systems.
- Strong understanding of NHS clinical workflows, healthcare data standards, and integration across PAS, LIS, RIS, pharmacy, and scheduling systems.
- Hands-on experience with test management and automation tools (e.g., HP ALM, Jira, Selenium, Tosca).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with clinicians and NHS IT teams.
- Track record of leading large testing teams in multi-vendor transformation programmes.
- Knowledge of risk-based testing, patient safety assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and deliver against tight deadlines.
- Experience in NHS/public sector procurement and delivery frameworks.
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT and other interoperability standards.
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent certification.
- Exposure to cloud-hosted healthcare systems and data platforms.
