We are hiring for a Datacenter Architecting - Unix Stack position in London (hybrid).

Contractor Role: Datacenter Architecting - Unix Stack
Work from Customer Location – London
The role provides L2 architectural ownership, supporting solution design, resilience, capacity, and operational stability under the guidance of senior architects.
Data Centre Architecture & Design- Design and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available data centre infrastructure architectures.
- Create low-level and high-level designs (LLD/HLD) for on-prem and hybrid DC environments.
- Support architecture decisions for server, storage, network, backup, and virtualisation platforms.
- Ensure designs comply with enterprise standards, security baselines, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide L2 architectural support for:
- Compute (Bare metal, x86 platforms)
- Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Storage (SAN/NAS, backup & replication)
- Data centre networking (core, aggregation, access layers)
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure design-to-run alignment.
- Design DC architectures for high availability, redundancy, DR, and fault tolerance.
- Support capacity planning, performance optimisation, and lifecycle management.
- Participate in failure analysis, RCA reviews, and corrective architecture enhancements.
- Ensure infrastructure designs minimise single points of failure.
- Act as L2 escalation point for complex DC infrastructure issues.
- Support change reviews, impact assessments, and risk analysis.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
- Support audits and compliance assessments for data centre services.
- Support integration of on-prem DC with private cloud and public cloud landing zones.
- Assist in hybrid architecture patterns, workload placement, and migration readiness.
- Ensure data centre designs align with future cloud extensibility.
