Our client, based in Sheffield, is looking for an IT Support Engineer with strong networking skills to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone with solid Tier 2 support experience who is looking to expand their expertise in networking and infrastructure. You’ll play a key part in supporting day-to-day operations, while also contributing to projects that enhance and modernise the company’s IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 support for IT and network issues, ensuring incidents are resolved within agreed timescales.
- Assist with the configuration, monitoring, and optimisation of networking and security systems.
- Support the rollout of infrastructure improvements, including cloud and security technologies.
- Work closely with senior engineers on larger projects, building your skills in advanced networking.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure changes follow internal processes.
About You
- Previous experience providing Tier 2 IT support, with exposure to networking technologies.
- Knowledge of Cisco or similar networking systems (formal certification beneficial but not essential).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across networks and general IT.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop your networking expertise further.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
