Senior IT Technician / IT Manager – Manchester City Centre – £40-50K
Our client is a well-established organisation with a long history of providing valuable products and services to its customers. They are now looking for an experienced Senior IT Technician / IT Manager to join their central office team in Manchester City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated IT professional to take on a role with both leadership and strategic responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the internal IT team, supporting staff at HQ and over 100 remote branches across the UK.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions aligned with wider objectives.
- Play a strategic role in shaping the infrastructure and technology roadmap.
- Mentor and develop IT team members to support their professional growth.
- Collaborate with external suppliers, outsourced development teams, and managed service providers.
- Maintain and upgrade the IT estate to ensure systems remain current, secure, and effective.
- Report on IT performance metrics at monthly meetings and drive improvement initiatives.
- Assist with IT budget planning, monitoring, and approvals.
- Manage internal IT projects, ensuring smooth delivery and regular stakeholder updates.
- Identify and manage IT-related risks across the organisation.
Technical Skills Required
- 3–5 years’ experience managing IT teams.
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi.
- Experience working with external suppliers (MSPs, outsourced developers, data centres).
- Proficiency with Microsoft technologies: Exchange, Active Directory, and Office Suite.
- Firewall configuration and maintenance skills.
