My client is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing IT team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied role, combining hands-on IT support with infrastructure administration in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Working as part of a collaborative IT function, you'll play a key role in ensuring the business's IT systems, networks and end-user services remain secure, reliable and highly available.
The Role
This is a broad technical position where you'll provide first and second-line support whilst taking ownership of core IT infrastructure and day-to-day operational activities.
You'll be the go-to person for resolving technical issues, supporting colleagues across the business and helping improve the efficiency, reliability and security of the IT environment.
You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure improvements, documentation and automation as the organisation continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line IT support to users across the business.
- Manage, prioritise and resolve IT support tickets, escalating where appropriate.
- Configure and deploy laptops, desktops and mobile devices for new starters.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including user accounts and permissions.
- Maintain and support core IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment and office technology.
- Administer user accounts across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory and Google Workspace.
- Monitor and troubleshoot networking issues including VPN connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VLANs.
- Maintain IT asset registers, hardware inventory and documentation.
- Support backups, security updates and system maintenance.
- Help improve IT processes, documentation and day-to-day operational efficiency.
About You
You'll be a hands-on IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused approach.
You'll enjoy working closely with users while also developing your infrastructure knowledge and contributing to technical improvement projects.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in an IT Support or IT Infrastructure Support role.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and VLANs.
- Experience supporting Windows desktop environments and business IT infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills with excellent communication and customer service.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple support requests.
- Experience using IT helpdesk or ticketing systems.
- Google Workspace administration.
- VMware.
- Veeam Backup & Replication.
