The Role
Our Client is seeking an IT Infrastructure & Projects Engineer to join their team in a newly created position. This role combines hands-on technical support with the delivery of infrastructure and end-user computing projects. You will play a key part in maintaining and improving the organisation's IT environment, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and fit for purpose. You will take ownership of site IT delivery, device management, and technical initiatives such as system migrations and Microsoft 365 enhancements, ensuring solutions are delivered effectively and with minimal disruption.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically strong, and confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing your own workload while contributing to wider team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain end-user devices (PCs, laptops, mobile devices)
- Own site IT delivery, including office setups, moves, and changes
- Lead or support IT infrastructure projects, including: Phone system migrations (VoIP, Teams, etc.), Microsoft 365 implementations and enhancements, Backup solutions (e.g. Microsoft 365 backup onboarding)
- Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
- Support and improve device provisioning (e.g. Autopilot, imaging)
- Work with vendors and third parties on implementations
- Ensure security best practices across endpoints and systems
- Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and changes
Skills & Experience
- Strong Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Intune experience
- Proven ability to deliver IT projects end-to-end
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals
- Experience with VoIP/telephony systems (desirable)
- Endpoint management experience (Windows, device lifecycle)
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
