About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive IT Operations & Infrastructure Manager to lead the day-to-day management, performance and development of their IT infrastructure and support services. Based in Sheffield with a hybrid working arrangement, you'll play a key role in ensuring their technology environment is secure, reliable and aligned with business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on technical work and leading IT operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organisation's IT infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, performance and security.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and SharePoint.
- Configure, manage and optimise Microsoft Azure environments, ensuring best practice for security, governance and performance.
- Oversee IT operations, monitoring system health and proactively resolving infrastructure issues.
- Lead the provision of IT support services, ensuring end users receive a responsive and high-quality support experience.
- Manage incident, problem and change processes to minimise disruption to business operations.
- Work closely with third-party suppliers and technology partners to deliver effective IT services.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery planning and cyber security initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement new technologies where appropriate.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
About You
You'll be an experienced IT professional with strong infrastructure knowledge and a passion for delivering excellent IT services. You'll ideally have experience with:
- Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and related services.
- Microsoft Azure administration, configuration and management.
- IT infrastructure including servers, networking, storage and cloud technologies.
- Delivering and managing IT support services within a business environment.
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and Microsoft security technologies.
- IT service management principles and best practices.
- Managing third-party suppliers and service providers.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Previous experience in an IT Operations, Infrastructure or Technical Manager role would be highly advantageous.
