Role Overview This company employs circa 500 people across their facilities in the North West and their customer base includes UK and European retailers and global consumer brands. Sustainability is a very live and key component of the business’s strategy. This approach to sustainability extends to all areas of its business. The site is a world-class, purpose built facility, with automation throughout its process. Currently, the site employs circa 235 colleagues and manufactures off 6 production lines on a 24/7 basis. The business constantly strives to support and empower employees, 50% of the team have over 5 years’ service with circa 30% having more than 10 years with the company. Package Role reports into the Managing Director Package from 100-120k depending on experience Car allowance of £9k Pension contributions at 8% employer (increasing to x 9% after 5 years) Bonus scheme at 15% (not guaranteed and based on business performance) Life insurance x 2 base increasing to x 4 after 5 years, Holidays at 23 days plus statutory increasing to 25 plus statutory Plant Manager Role The Plant Manager will be responsible for all elements of the Factory performance, including production, maintenance, mixing and quality/hygiene standards. This role is a senior leadership position. The structure of the team is one of a matrix with manufacturing, mixing, maintenance & H & S reporting directly into this role, with support functions (planning & supply chain, Quality, HR) being on a dotted line basis. Working with cross business stakeholders, you will be responsible for determining and delivering the plans to ensure the factory achieves its objectives and deliverables. You will do this whilst continuously striving for excellence and embedding a positive culture of continuous improvement. Being an excellent people manager, you will highly motivate your teams through regular and effective communication, training development and performance management. You will provide coaching, mentoring, observation and review to develop a factory leadership team that is responsive, agile, efficient and capable. It will be paramount that the Plant Manager drives a safety culture, striving to deliver no lost time accidents and reducing minor incidents. You will also deliver a successful continuous improvement strategy and work with Engineering and quality functions to ensure the highest level of manufacturing efficiency and product integrity. You will have budget responsibility for the factory, ensuring the profitable performance of your site. The Ideal Plant Manager The successful candidate will have a strong track record in Factory Leadership in a fast-moving, private-label manufacturing environment. The Plant Manager must believe in the potential of people and maximising the contribution of all team members. The Plant Manager must be an inspirational leader with a track record of delivering a culture of excellence across their teams, having coached mentored and improved performance of their people. Technically you will an expert in the leadership of a fast-paced manufacturing environment, leading multiple functions, including engineering, H&S and liquid manufacture. In addition, you will have successfully implemented a lean manufacturing strategy. Ideally you will have a degree in a relevant area extending to Engineering/manufacturing, operational management, Quality or equivalent.
