Your New Company
Our client is a forward-thinking manufacturer based in Bolton, focused on delivering world-class production standards within a dynamic and growing environment. Working as part of a dedicated leadership team, you will play a key role in driving team performance, safety and continuous improvement across the production line.
In this role you will be responsible for leading a Production Line team to achieve daily targets relating to Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost. You will support improvement activities, develop your team, conduct area audits and follow through on corrective actions.
Key Accountabilities and Activities:
- Co-ordinate the team: run team meetings and weekly cascades covering Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost; take ownership of KPIs and resolve issues as they arise, involving shift technical support where needed.
- Drive Health & Safety: carry out risk assessments and daily safety checks, control energy and material waste, escalate safety and environmental issues, and maintain good 5S standards.
- Solve Problems: respond quickly to line issues, coordinate support staff, conduct initial investigations and escalate where required, and support RCCA activity.
- Train and Develop: coach and mentor PTMs, provide regular feedback, identify training needs, and keep training and competency records up to date.
- Manage PTM Performance: support PTMs in meeting line, team and skill block requirements, report key issues upward and develop PDPs with your team.
- Maintain Standard Operations: support and audit performance against line documentation, feeding back where improvements are needed.
- Step in on PTM duties as required, freeing up the team for improvement activities.
Key Competencies:
- Experience within fast-moving production environments, with a track record of team engagement and performance management.
- Comfortable working within a KPI-driven business.
- Proven team leadership experience with strong product and industry knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong motivational and self-motivation qualities.
- Experience training, developing and interviewing team members.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to support team wellbeing and handle difficult discussions.
- NVQ or ILM qualification in leadership (desirable).
- Risk assessment training.
- Proficient in Microsoft O365.
- Active involvement in continuous improvement activities.
