As Business / Sales Development Leader, you will be working closely with ADP's UK & Ireland Business Unit, managing and leading a team of ambitious Business Development Representatives (BDR) and collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams, to help generate new business opportunities and maintain our company's position as a global industry leader.
You will own all processes of outbound lead management within the territory and drive the success of your team, ensuring a high level of quality and a healthy pipeline of new opportunities are delivered to our partners in the field. ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be using your experience to support and coach the UK Business Development team, covering Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Upper Digital Sales sectors, helping them effectively leverage all available means of researching and qualifying accounts and contacts, while staying on top of trends within the wider market.
Being a true leader, you will be your team's facilitator for continuous improvement and development, delivering a high level of continuous performance and engagement. The team will look to you for motivation and guidance to achieve their overall goals.
You will act as a thought-leader and drive transformations and necessary process changes, successfully aligning behaviours to business objectives. Your main purpose will be to use all available means to support your team, so that they can produce a regular flow of qualified, sales ready Opportunities into Sales Pipeline.
Partnering and collaborating closely with the UK Business Unit, Sales VPs, Sales Managers, District Managers and many other departments involved in our success as a company.
We trust our Data, so you will be making sure that our Business Development process is followed correctly by the reps and other partners in the sales cycle, so that our CRM is always updated and reflecting our efforts. You will be holding people accountable and have a high standard of ethics and transparency, to help the team deliver constantly on their commitments.
You will report directly to our EMEA Director of Business Development. It is expected you will also hold other useful matrix relationships with the global Business Development team, so you can stay on top of progress and status across our international team and make sure your voice is part of the BU’s conversation. Your work will always be in accordance with agreed procedures and specific local regulations and demands.
You will organise and attend regular 'one to one' meetings, team meetings, and forecasting meetings, to give/receive feedback, monitor performance and identify training needs. Make performance appraisals, distribute objectives and report; Sometimes you will have to help teammates improve their performance or skill level, by providing them with all necessary help to get back on track with their results. You will be taking part in company events, conferences, training courses, and other meetings as per local initiatives. Managing your team's administrative needs (holidays, sickness, specific needs/demands).
Handle escalations or challenging situations in a timely, professional manner, aimed at delivering results and restoring the productivity and performance levels. Participate in recruiting and lead the onboarding of new hires in the team. Amaze everyone with your insight and experience, by contributing to and leading projects aimed at innovating and improving on process and procedures for pipeline growth.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a University Graduate or MBA and have at least 2-3 years of management experience, preferably in Sales, Marketing or Business/Sales Development roles. You are target driven and have experience working within prospecting on leads and opportunities in a CRM environment (Salesforce.com desirable). You have a high degree of comfort in building and maintaining professional relationships and engaging with Senior Leaders and C-Suite contacts.
You understand digital communication tools like social media, video or phone selling and e-mail marketing and have been exposed to other technologies used for prospecting and research. You are passionate about pipeline growth and associate development. You are comfortable leveraging modern digital tools and platforms--including AI--to work smarter and more efficiently. You adopt new technologies quickly, use data to inform decisions, and continuously explore ways to enhance productivity and results through innovation.
