Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can balance strategic leadership with personal sales success? Are you ready to help develop high-performing sales talent while continuing to drive business growth? If so, this may be the opportunity you've been searching for.
In this role, you will support the Sales Manager in driving the performance, development, and success of a team of Major Account Sales Representatives. As an Associate Sales Manager, you'll operate as a player-coach, carrying your own sales targets while helping your team build pipeline, navigate opportunities, and achieve revenue goals. You'll play a key role in executing regional sales strategies, driving accountability, and ensuring sustainable business growth.
What you'll do every day:
- Partner with sales professionals to build and advance opportunities, coach on sales strategy and execution, review pipeline health, and help remove barriers to success.
- Monitor team performance, support forecasting activities, collaborate with business partners across ADP, and contribute directly to new business acquisition through your own sales efforts.
Your ability to balance leadership, coaching, and personal sales performance will be critical to success.
To thrive in this role, you'll bring strong sales leadership instincts, resilience, business acumen, and a passion for developing others. You'll be expected to lead through influence, maintain a high-performance mindset, and navigate the challenges that come with balancing individual and team objectives. In return, you'll gain valuable leadership experience, exposure to strategic sales initiatives, opportunities for career advancement, and the ability to make a measurable impact within a market-leading HCM technology organization.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Revenue Performance: Contribute directly to business growth through your own quota attainment while helping the broader team achieve sales objectives and revenue targets.
- Coach for Success: Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, and support to sales representatives, helping them improve performance, develop skills, and maximize results.
- Manage Pipeline and Forecasting: Monitor pipeline health, sales activity, productivity metrics, and forecast accuracy to ensure predictable and sustainable business outcomes.
- Advance Strategic Opportunities: Partner with sales representatives on complex opportunities, helping to develop winning strategies and advance deals through the sales cycle.
- Collaborate Across the Business: Work closely with Sales Managers, senior sales leadership, business partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on commercial strategy and execution.
- Develop High-Performing Teams: Play an active role in training, motivating, and developing sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:
- Successful Sales Professional: Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving or exceeding quota in a business-to-business sales environment.
- Leadership Capability: Ability to coach, motivate, and influence others, helping individuals and teams achieve high performance.
- Strategic Thinker: Identify challenges and opportunities, prioritise effectively, allocate resources, and execute plans that deliver results.
- Strong Communicator: Build credibility through excellent communication, professionalism, integrity, and collaboration with clients and colleagues.
- Analytical and Results-Oriented: Use data, metrics, and business insights to evaluate performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Industry Expertise: Experience selling HCM, Payroll, HR Technology, SaaS, or business services solutions is preferred.
A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills and experience needed to be successful in the role.
Other acceptable experience could include significant B2B sales experience with a history of exceeding revenue goals.
Bonus points for these:
- Previous team lead, supervisory, or people management experience.
- Experience coaching quota-carrying sales professionals.
- Experience in Payroll, Human Capital Management (HCM), HR technology, SaaS, or related business services industries.
- Proven success managing complex, high-value sales opportunities.
- Experience with CRM systems, forecasting methodologies, and sales performance management.
