Sales and Administration Assistant
Location: Basildon, Essex, SS13 1LJ
Salary: £25,250.00 per annum + performance bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Are you looking for a varied role in a fast-paced trade environment? A well-established specialist merchant is seeking a Sales & Administration Assistant to join its growing team in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative and customer service skills to contribute to a dynamic business.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Administration Supervisor, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers at the trade counter and on the phone, while supporting a wide range of administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing excellent face-to-face and telephone customer service

  • Handling sales transactions, refunds, credits, and account queries

  • Supporting branch communications and managing general admin tasks

  • Assisting with stock accuracy and order placement

  • Maintaining high standards on the trade counter and kitchen/serving area

  • Helping to ensure health and safety compliance

  • Supporting delivery scheduling and maintaining delivery boards

  • Participating in the execution of sales plans and following up on quotes

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • A proactive, committed, and reliable approach

  • Confidence in handling customer queries and complaints professionally
