A well-invested aerospace precision engineering business is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to join its engineering team. This is a technically focused role supporting the manufacture of complex aerospace components, with responsibility for programming, process development, tooling, fixtures and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Create and optimise 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programmes
- Develop manufacturing processes, routings and setup methods
- Design and implement work-holding and fixture solutions
- Select tooling and support process improvement activities
- Drive first-time-right production and reduce manufacturing inefficiencies
- Liaise with production, quality and engineering teams on new and existing products
- Support the introduction of new components into manufacture
Requirements
- Proven CNC programming experience in a precision engineering environment
- Strong understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
- Experience developing manufacturing methods and setup strategies
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable
- Hypermill experience would be advantageous
