A well-invested aerospace precision engineering business is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to join its engineering team. This is a technically focused role supporting the manufacture of complex aerospace components, with responsibility for programming, process development, tooling, fixtures and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and optimise 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programmes
  • Develop manufacturing processes, routings and setup methods
  • Design and implement work-holding and fixture solutions
  • Select tooling and support process improvement activities
  • Drive first-time-right production and reduce manufacturing inefficiencies
  • Liaise with production, quality and engineering teams on new and existing products
  • Support the introduction of new components into manufacture

Requirements

  • Proven CNC programming experience in a precision engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
  • Experience developing manufacturing methods and setup strategies
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable
  • Hypermill experience would be advantageous
