A Transport Planner position is available with a salary of £33K. The working hours are 8am – 5.30pm or 7am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, office based. This is a permanent role for an experienced Transport / Logistics Planner to work within my client on the outskirts of Chelmsford / Wickford.

Free parking is provided, but you will need your own transport due to the rural location of these newly refurbished offices. You will be responsible for planning the pickup, drop-offs, and servicing of hired equipment for a fleet of over 60 vehicles across multiple depots.

The role involves:

  • Working in the Service Operations group
  • Planning transport routes
  • Allocating services, deliveries, and collections using planning software tools

You will be part of a team of Transport Planners, reporting to the Service Manager. The main purpose of the role is to manage the transport of service drivers while providing excellent customer service. The atmosphere is busy and dynamic in the newly refurbished offices, and you will be communicating internally with customer service teams and depot managers to help solve any queries as they arise.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Transport Planning experience – essential
  • Experience within a similar role – essential
  • Transport and logistics sector experience preferable
  • Must be IT literate and able to use tools such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Own transport required
  • Transport planner, road freight planner, or logistics administrator experience would be ideal for this role
