Working Hours: Monday to Friday. Choose from one of the following fixed night shifts:
- 18:00 – 04:00
- 22:00 – 08:00
Participation in a shared weekend and Bank Holiday on-call rota is required.

We’re recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner - Co-ordinator to join a growing container haulage business based at London Gateway. Night operations are at the heart of the logistics industry, and you’ll be trusted to manage the challenges, decisions and coordination that keep customers, drivers and ports running seamlessly.
The Role: As a Transport Planner - Co-ordinator, you’ll oversee and coordinate container transport movements throughout the night, ensuring operations run efficiently, safely and on schedule. You’ll be the central point of communication between drivers, customers and operational teams, managing real-time logistics activity and resolving issues as they arise. This role offers plenty of variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a genuine impact every shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and coordinating container transport movements across the UK
- Allocating work and managing driver schedules
- Monitoring live transport operations and responding to changes in real time
- Liaising with drivers, customers, ports and internal teams
- Managing operational challenges and finding effective solutions
- Ensuring deliveries and collections are completed on time
- Maintaining accurate transport and operational records
- Supporting compliance with transport legislation and company procedures
- Providing a smooth handover between night and day operations
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience within UK container haulage or transport planning
- Strong organisational and workload management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- A proactive and solution-focused approach
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service
Desirable Experience:
- Transport Manager CPC qualification
- Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and transport compliance
- Experience working with major UK container ports, including Felixstowe and Southampton
- Experience within a busy logistics, transport or haulage operation
