Business Development Manager – Structural Engineering Location: Sevenoaks Salary: Competitive + Bonus/Commission Permanent | Full-Time Are you an ambitious Business Development Manager with experience in construction, engineering or technical consultancy? We're recruiting for an established and growing business within the structural engineering sector that is looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to help take the business to the next level. This is a genuine new business and strategic growth opportunity for someone who enjoys opening doors, building senior-level relationships and winning substantial projects. THE ROLE You'll be responsible for identifying and converting new commercial opportunities while developing long-term relationships with key clients and partners. You'll be involved in: * Winning new business and securing high-value projects * Developing relationships with developers, architects, main contractors, consultants and other key decision-makers * Identifying upcoming construction and engineering projects * Developing and managing a strong sales pipeline * Creating and implementing business development strategies * Identifying new sectors, markets and revenue opportunities * Managing key accounts and developing repeat business * Leading tender and proposal opportunities from qualification through to submission * Working closely with technical and engineering teams to develop commercially strong proposals * Negotiating commercial terms and supporting contract discussions * Attending industry events, exhibitions and networking opportunities * Tracking pipeline, revenue forecasts and business development performance * Helping to develop and mentor members of the sales/business development team THE PERSON We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, driven and confident dealing with senior stakeholders. You should have: * Proven experience in business development, sales or commercial management * Ideally 5+ years' experience within construction, structural engineering, engineering consultancy or a related technical sector * A proven track record of winning new business and high-value projects * Experience developing relationships with senior decision-makers * Good knowledge of the construction and engineering project lifecycle * Experience with tenders, proposals and commercial negotiations * Strong networking and relationship-building skills * Excellent communication and presentation abilities * Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills * Experience managing a CRM and maintaining an accurate sales pipeline Previous experience managing or mentoring a sales/business development team would be advantageous.
