Our client is entering an exciting phase of substantial planned growth, with a clear strategy to significantly increase the size of the business over the next two to five years. As part of this journey, they are now seeking an experienced FCL Import Manager to take ownership of their Full Container Load import operation and play a key role in shaping its future. This is not a maintenance role. It is a genuine opportunity for a proactive, commercially minded freight forwarding professional who wants to grow with the business and progress into senior leadership.
The Opportunity: Import Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the FCL Import department, ensuring smooth, compliant, and cost-effective operations while supporting the wider growth plans of the business. You will manage shipping line relationships, drive operational and commercial performance, and lead a team to consistently deliver high service levels. You will also contribute to improving processes and building a scalable operation that supports future expansion.
There is a clear and achievable career progression pathway:
- Short to medium term progression into Import Sea Freight Manager, with responsibility for both FCL and LCL Imports
- Longer term progression into Basildon Operations Manager, with full oversight of all operational departments
