CNC Programmer Advanced CNC – 3, 4 & 5-Axis Machining Aerospace – Romford, Essex Permanent Position £38,000 - £52,000 + Overtime + Benefits We’re partnered with a well-established and well-invested aerospace precision engineering business based in Romford, supplying complex components into the aerospace sector. Due to continued growth, they’re looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join their engineering team and take ownership of programming, process development and manufacturing optimisation. This is far more than a programme-writing role. You’ll have genuine engineering input into how complex aerospace components are manufactured, developing machining strategies, tooling, fixtures and processes to achieve first-time-right production. The Role You’ll be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programmes and manufacturing processes across 3, 4 and 5-axis machining, working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering to ensure components are manufactured efficiently, accurately and consistently. What You’ll Be Doing * Creating, optimising and proving 3, 4 and 5axis CNC programmes * Developing manufacturing processes, routings and setup strategies * Programming complex aerospace components to drawing and specification * Developing tooling and machining strategies * Designing and implementing workholding and fixture solutions * Selecting tooling and optimising cutting strategies * Supporting the introduction of new components into manufacture * Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams * Identifying and resolving manufacturing and machining issues * Driving firsttime-right production * Improving cycle times, processes and manufacturing efficiency * Supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation What We’re Looking For * Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within precision engineering * Strong understanding of 3, 4 and 5axis machining * Experience programming complex components * Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting strategies * Experience developing manufacturing methods and setup strategies * Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications * Strong problemsolving and process improvement skills * Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable * Hypermill experience would be advantageous What’s On Offer * Highly competitive salary – DOE * Healthcare benefits * Flexible working hours * Generous holiday allowance * Modern, wellinvested engineering environment * Opportunity to work on complex aerospace components * Genuine engineering ownership and influence * Longterm opportunity within an established aerospace busines The Opportnity This isn't simply a role where you'll be handed a drawing and asked to write a programme. You'll be working with advanced 3, 4 and 5-axis machining, complex aerospace components and tight tolerances, with genuine scope to influence processes, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing standards.
