A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join a well-established business, supporting their Logistics team and working closely with the Commercial function. This is a fast-paced and varied role with a strong focus on transport operations, customs compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
About the Role
As a Transport Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day logistics and transport activities, ensuring the smooth movement of goods both domestically and internationally. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring service providers, and ensuring all deliveries meet compliance and timing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily logistics schedules (inbound and outbound shipments)
- Ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods in line with ADR/IMDG and AEO requirements
- Coordinate closely with commercial, procurement, and production teams
- Maintain accurate transport and customs documentation
- Monitor performance of third-party logistics providers
- Communicate transport updates and freight rates to internal teams
- Support customs compliance and administration processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and service providers
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within logistics, transport, or supply chain
- Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and customs processes
- Experience using customs systems such as CNS, Descartes/Densti8, CDS
- Understanding of AEO procedures highly advantageous
- HAZ/ADR knowledge desirable
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ideally CRM/ERP systems
What’s on Offer
- Salary circa £37,500
- Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Office-based role with potential for 1–2 days WFH after training
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- 10% discretionary bonus (paid in January, pro rata)
