Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30

Working Arrangement: Full-time, office-based

Salary: Up to £42,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established and internationally recognised manufacturer of HVAC and air movement solutions, supplying products and technical solutions into the UK construction and building services sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their technical sales team. This is an office-based role supporting the external sales team, customers and project enquiries. You will combine your technical HVAC knowledge with estimating, product selection and commercial awareness, ensuring customers receive accurate and technically appropriate solutions.

The Role

You will be responsible for reviewing project requirements, selecting suitable products and preparing accurate quotations. You will also provide technical support to customers and the external sales team, particularly on complex, high-value and specification-led opportunities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and interpreting project specifications, drawings and schedules
  • Selecting appropriate grilles, diffusers, louvres and associated HVAC products
  • Preparing accurate and timely quotations
  • Supporting the external sales team with technical and commercial information
  • Responding to technical enquiries from customers, consultants, contractors and internal teams
  • Assisting with complex, high-value and specification-led enquiries
  • Reviewing competitor specifications and identifying suitable product alternatives
  • Supporting the retention of specifications throughout tender and procurement stages
  • Providing value-engineering options where appropriate
  • Explaining product alternatives, performance considerations and commercial implications
  • Liaising with production, engineering and other internal departments on bespoke solutions
  • Managing multiple live enquiries and priorities while maintaining excellent accuracy and response times

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within HVAC or building services
  • A background in estimating, technical sales or applications engineering
  • An understanding of airflow principles and HVAC product selection
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing multiple enquiries and working to deadlines
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of your own workload
  • A proactive and reliable approach to your work

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working with grilles, diffusers or similar HVAC products
  • 2D or 3D CAD experience
  • Experience working on specification-led projects
  • Experience delivering or supporting CIBSE CPDs, either remotely or face-to-face
