The Role
As Transport Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the transport department, ensuring efficient vehicle utilisation, driver coordination, and exceptional customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning and coordinating daily transport schedules and vehicle allocations
- Acting as the main point of contact for drivers throughout the working day
- Monitoring deliveries and ensuring routes run efficiently
- Managing transport administration and maintaining accurate records
- Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, and company procedures
- Coordinating vehicle servicing, maintenance, inspections, and MOT schedules
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure service levels are met
- Resolving transport-related issues quickly and effectively
- Supporting operational planning and providing cover arrangements when required
- Producing reports and assisting with the continuous improvement of transport processes
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within transport, logistics, fleet, or planning operations
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Good understanding of transport compliance and regulations
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- CPC qualification beneficial but not essential
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle essential due to the location
