As a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the CEO, you will lead and strategically manage Adnams’ direct‑to‑consumer business areas, driving customer experience, reputation, profit and shareholder value across hospitality, retail and property operations.

This pivotal leadership role requires significant experience across multi‑site retail, hospitality and property operations. You will bring strategic vision, commercial focus, and a strong understanding of how to create exceptional customer and guest experiences while delivering sustainable financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Adnams’ premium standards across hospitality, retail and visitor experiences, including benchmark measures such as Michelin Key and AA 4‑red‑star awards.
  • Support pub tenants with their own business strategies, operational advice, and influence them to uphold Adnams brand values.
  • Provide visible leadership, build strong teams, create clarity and accountability, and support sites and colleagues in delivering operational and brand excellence.
  • Champion people and teams, building a strong employee brand and leading with empathy, clarity and support.
  • Drive operational efficiency through the effective use and development of systems and data, focusing on labour efficiency, food margin performance, revenue growth, cover numbers, occupancy, and seasonal opening patterns to optimise EBITDA.
  • Improve return on capital employed across the hospitality estate, setting clear year‑on‑year growth expectations and targeted performance improvement plans for priority sites.
  • Identify opportunities to reshape ways of working to better support operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Plan and assess maintenance capital expenditure required across the estate to protect asset quality and long‑term value.
  • Build and develop a pipeline of capital development projects, supported by recycled capital from lower‑performing assets or central funding, with returns measured on a project‑by‑project basis.
  • Oversee the retail proposition, including online, to improve overall performance and explore opportunities for new formats.
Qualifications
  • Extensive leadership experience across hospitality, retail, property or other multi‑site consumer‑facing operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience translating strategy into operational and financial performance.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams and partner businesses through change, creating clarity, accountability and engagement.
  • Strong focus on legal compliance, presentation standards, customer experience and long‑term value in overseeing assets and operations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, and confidence in building relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
