Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital; we conduct research and teaching on site to improve the care of our patients. The hospital is undergoing significant investment and development including a new surgical ward.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder management skills. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job:

As Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day financial management of ADMK Limited, providing expert financial advice, analysis and support to the Assistant Director of Finance, Managing Director and senior operational leaders. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, effective financial planning and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, while supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with colleagues across ADMK and MKUH, you will help ensure the organisation continues to operate effectively, sustainably and in accordance with best financial practice.

ADMK Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, established to support the development and management of healthcare facilities across Milton Keynes. From its origins managing the Cancer Centre facility, ADMK has grown significantly and now manages a diverse portfolio of projects and facilities, with over £100m of committed project revenue delivered or underway and forecast annual revenue approaching £47m. As the organisation evolves from a development-focused business into an operational facilities and services company, we are seeking an ambitious and talented Finance Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the next phase of our growth.

Qualifications and knowledge:

  • Working towards or recently gained professional Chartered Accountancy qualification (Level 7 or above)
  • Highly developed specialist/expert knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience and expertise in financial accounting and disciplines relevant to commercial finance

Experience:

  • Significant experience working at a senior level within a finance department

Skills:

  • Ability to analyse highly technical issues and provide practical guidance and recommendations
  • Highly numerate; able to analyse reports and complex data sets
  • Ability to achieve demanding tasks and objectives against deadlines

Personal and people development:

  • High personal standard of conduct and behaviour
  • Builds and develops multidisciplinary teams and maintains constructive working relationships

Communication:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to a wide range of individuals
  • Able to communicate contentious issues with sensitivity and empathy
