As a Claims Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and governing end-to-end technical solutions across the Claims domain. The role will ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, compliant, performant, and aligned with digital strategy, hybrid cloud principles, architecture standards, and customer-focused delivery.
You will provide solution architecture leadership across initiatives, working closely with product owners, delivery teams, subject matter experts, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, and wider stakeholders. The role will translate requirements into pragmatic architecture designs and provide architectural oversight throughout delivery, including MVP implementation and future extensibility.
Key Responsibilities- Lead solution architecture design for Claims initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned to outcomes, customer needs, technology strategy, and regulatory expectations.
- Design and maintain solution outlines and architecture artefacts that support hybrid cloud strategy and delivery governance.
- Provide architectural leadership across the Claims domain, including solutions involving Guidewire ClaimCenter 10 and the wider Guidewire suite of systems.
- Translate requirements into secure, compliant, scalable, and performant technical architectures.
- Collaborate with product owners, delivery teams, subject matter experts, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, and wider stakeholders to shape and validate solution options.
- Govern the use of APIs, event-driven architecture, shared services, and integration patterns across Claims and adjacent domains.
- Provide architectural oversight during MVP delivery, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose while remaining scalable and extensible for future phases.
- Support delivery teams by clarifying architecture decisions, resolving design issues, and ensuring alignment to agreed architecture principles and patterns.
- Apply enterprise solution patterns and security patterns to ensure consistency, resilience, and compliance across solutions.
- Ensure architecture decisions consider the full end-to-end process and operational context.
- Produce high-quality architecture artefacts, including high-level designs and solution outlines, to support governance, delivery, and stakeholder understanding.
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter or a similar Claims platform.
- Knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter 10 and the wider Guidewire suite of systems.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant solution architectures.
- Knowledge of Azure services such as Blob Storage, API Management, Key Vault, AKS, Event Grid, Logic Apps, or comparable cloud services.
- Understanding of enterprise solution patterns and security patterns.
- Previous engineering experience, such as Java, C#, or other programming languages.
- Ability to produce high-quality architecture artefacts, including high-level designs and solution outlines.
- Ability to translate requirements into secure, compliant, and practical technical solutions.
- Experience supporting architecture governance and assurance throughout delivery.
- Experience designing solutions that support MVP delivery while allowing for future scalability and extensibility.
- Proven experience designing Claims solutions within the UK General Insurance sector.
- Strong understanding of Claims lifecycle processes, including FNOL, liability, repair, settlement, and fraud.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including FCA, GDPR, and PRA, and their impact on Claims systems.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work effectively with Claims SMEs, Information Security, Enterprise Architecture, product owners, delivery teams, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with cross-cloud architectures, particularly across Azure and GCP.
- Broader experience across adjacent insurance domains such as Policy, Digital, or shared services.
- Experience governing API-led and event-driven architectures across multiple domains.
- Claims solutions are well designed, secure, scalable, compliant, and aligned with technology strategy and customer-focused outcomes.
- Architecture artefacts are clear, high quality, and provide delivery teams and stakeholders with the guidance needed to make informed decisions.
- Product owners, delivery teams, subject matter experts, Information Security, and Enterprise Architecture have confidence in the architecture direction and decisions.
- Solution designs support MVP delivery while enabling future phases and avoiding unnecessary rework.
- APIs, event-driven architecture, shared services, and integration approaches are governed consistently across Claims and adjacent domains.
- Architecture decisions are pragmatic, clearly communicated, and balance business value, regulatory obligations, technical quality, and delivery needs.
- Claims initiatives benefit from strong architectural oversight throughout design and delivery.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Solution Architect with strong technical architecture capability and practical knowledge of Claims platforms, cloud services, integration approaches, security patterns, and enterprise architecture practices. They will be comfortable operating in a complex delivery environment, producing clear architecture artefacts, engaging with technical and business stakeholders, and making pragmatic design decisions. This role is well suited to someone who can provide clear technical leadership, support delivery teams through ambiguity, and ensure solutions are designed with security, scalability, compliance, and customer outcomes in mind.
Working arrangements:This is a remote role, with an expectation to attend the Ty Admiral Cardiff office once per month or as and when required.
