Objectives of the role:
The purpose of the Openings Manager is to work alongside the Head of Pipeline & Conversions (HPC), to help identify, validate and convert pubs from one format for Admiral to that of Operator Managed. The role is to manage the process of conversion within set timeframes and on budget. They will also develop and execute an opening plan for each new pub that is relevant to the needs and level of spend. They will work closely with the HPC, relevant BDMs, PMs, Operators and third parties to ensure synergies are achieved and communication is strong, relevant and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
- To help in the identification and assess pubs using the Operator Managed selection criteria and evaluate pubs put forward by other areas of the business along with the HPC.
- Assist with the planning of a pipeline for new OM pubs.
- Be part of capex scheme briefings to ensure that capex delivers the required operational, segmentation and target market requirements.
- Ensures that the pub opens on time with the correct operational standards and following the OM guidelines.
- Assist the BDM with any training required for new Operators taking new openings.
- Review in a timely fashion any completed conversions and with the HPC, suggest adjustments moving forward to ensure that operationally ready, service the local target market, and fit within the Operator Managed framework.
- Build strong working relationships and work positively not only within the Operator Managed team, but the wider field teams, and with all support teams and Head Office departments. Participate in and support company projects as required.
- Develop an opening plan for each pub that fits in line with the OM guidelines and maximises the impact of the investment. Works alongside Marketing, BDM and Operator to ensure that this lands first time.
- Review each opening and adjust according to ensure maximum impact at each one.

Also be able to effectively manage several different jobs at once with confidence and be able to articulate project positions. Confident in using planning tools and be able to adjust any plan if so required. Must be able to prioritise tasks in order of importance and relevance. - Business Acumen
Understands industry trends and their impact on the business, as well as responding to market and business changes that affect the project and business. Monitors competition and its impact on the project and regularly reviews the work completed to ensure it moves forward as required. - Technical Requirements
• Comprehensive experience of a customer facing multi-site management role.
• Understanding of various operating models.
• Computer literate – a minimum of intermediate Word, Outlook and Excel plus basic Power Point.
• Full GB Driving License.
Working Arrangements:
This is a Field-based role – Head Office attendance is only required for specific meetings/purposes. Site visits nationally will be required with pre-planned planned itineraries each week.
