As a Healthcare Security Officer at Admiral Security, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe environment in healthcare facilities. You will be responsible for protecting patients, staff, and visitors within the hospital setting, ensuring that the healthcare environment remains secure and calm. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine patrols inside and outside the hospital to ensure the safety of people and property and the maintenance of order.
  • Safeguard the well-being of patients, public, and hospital staff by monitoring activities and intervening when necessary.
  • Monitor patients' behavior and movements to ensure their safety, especially those at risk of self-harm, aggression, or wandering.
  • Monitor and control access to healthcare facilities to ensure that only authorized individuals are allowed entry, particularly in sensitive areas.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, such as medical crises, security breaches, or fires, ensuring a swift resolution.
  • Intervene during emergency or crisis situations, such as patient or visitor conflicts, de-escalate issues in a professional and calm manner.
  • Utilize surveillance equipment to detect and prevent incidents or criminal activity, maintaining a proactive security presence.
  • Create detailed reports of incidents and security-related activities, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Work closely with medical staff, hospital administration, and local law enforcement to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed and address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Healthcare in an acute care hospital or similar healthcare environment.
  • No prior license required – we assist with the security guard license application process.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (must be obtained upon hire if not already certified).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to identify potential threats to security and patient safety with keen attention to detail.
  • A calm, professional demeanor and the ability to handle sensitive healthcare situations effectively and with discretion.
  • A valid New Brunswick driver’s license is preferred.
Work Conditions & Benefits
  • 8-12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays).
  • $20.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Flexible shift availability (Day Shift, Night Shift, Overnight Shift).
  • Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement for work-related travel.
  • Additional compensation for using your personal vehicle for work.
