The Role
The Broker Sales Team Leader plays a pivotal role in driving mortgage completions and leading a high-performing sales team. This hybrid role balances hands-on application management with strategic leadership, fostering strong relationships with broker firms and internal departments to deliver outstanding results.
Time Allocation
- Managing new mortgage applications through to completion
- Team leadership and strategic responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Application Management – Lead by example
- Oversee and progress new mortgage applications from submission to completion.
- Ensure timely and compliant processing aligned with lender and regulatory standards
- Team Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, coach, and motivate Broker Sales Executives (BSEs) to exceed individual and team SLA’s and KPI’s
- Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals and expectations
- Identify training needs and coordinate development plans
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
- Act as escalation point for BSEs and broker firms
- Maintain regular contact with broker firms and their team leaders to strengthen partnerships
- Champion cross-functional collaboration with: Quality Assurance, Underwriting, Business Change, Business Analysts, Data Teams, Marketing
- Support in regular team meetings to share updates, insights, and drive engagement
Essential Skills
- Proven leadership experience in a sales environment
- Minimum years’ experience in Mortgage Broker Sales
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams to meet and exceed sales targets
Desirable
- CeMAP or equivalent mortgage qualification
- Sound knowledge of specialist mortgage products and distribution, particularly homeowner loans
