Join our dynamic technology team in Admiral Business as a QA Engineer and play a key role in shaping our quality function. You’ll be instrumental in designing and executing test strategies, championing quality best practices, and collaborating with development teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.
About Admiral Business
Please note this role is an 8 month FTC and requires the successful candidate to work from the Cardiff office 2 days a week. We want to make it possible for more small businesses to survive and thrive – by building personalised products and services that allow our customers to run their business and perform their craft. We currently offer commercial insurance policies that include Tools & Materials, Public Liability, Employers Liability, Goods in Transit, Professional Indemnity and Legal Expenses, with more products on the horizon. Main Responsibilities
- Manual testing of new features
- Contributions to Engineering Ways of Working
- Supporting engineers in testing and testability improvements
- Maintaining modern testing frameworks and tools
- Developing, maintaining, and optimizing automated test suites across multiple applications, ensuring high test coverage
- Contributing to QA documentation, test plans, and templates
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in Quality Assurance practices within Agile development teams
- Experience in developing and maintaining automated test suites
- Strong proficiency in modern test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, PostMan, RestAssured)
- Ability to read and understand development code
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- CI/CD pipelining experience
Desirable Experience
- Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., Insurance, Finance, Healthcare)
- ISTQB Certification or similar
- Exposure to API contract testing (Pact, Postman) and cloud-based test environments
- Experience with AI-driven test automation and chaos engineering tools
