This is an excellent opportunity to join Admiral as a Sustainability Intern, offered on a 9‑ or 12‑month fixed‑term basis. As a Sustainability Intern at Admiral, you will be part of a dynamic team working to ensure the company maintains a robust risk framework around climate change and broader sustainability issues. Reporting to the Head of Environmental Risk, you will gain exposure to a wide range of strategic and operational sustainability initiatives, contributing to Admiral’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple areas of the sustainability function, including climate strategy, social purpose projects, governance processes, and annual reporting. You will support the team in delivering key projects and will be expected to adapt to evolving priorities throughout the year.
- Risk Reporting & Analysis: Produce regular dashboards and reports to monitor Admiral’s sustainability‑related risk exposure. Assist in the development and refinement of risk indicators and metrics.
- Workshop & Engagement Support: Create engaging materials for internal workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions. Help facilitate knowledge‑sharing across departments on sustainability topics.
- Data & Tool Development: Build and maintain Excel‑based tools to track and analyse climate‑related metrics. Support data collection and validation for internal and external reporting.
- Project Support: Contribute to projects linked to Admiral’s social purpose, including community and employee initiatives. Assist in preparing content for the company’s annual sustainability disclosures and climate strategy updates.
- Governance & Compliance: Support the sustainability team in documenting governance processes and ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations. Help track progress against internal sustainability targets and commitments.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret data and apply logical thinking to solve problems.
- High proficiency in Excel, with confidence handling and analysing data.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, able to adapt to different audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of tasks while working with minimal supervision.
