Key Aspects of the Role

Reporting to the Insurance Accounting Manager, this role supports both the UK and European insurance entities and contributes directly to high quality Group reporting. • Review key Group financial reporting disclosures, including profit analyses and financial statement notes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Drive improvements in insurance accounting systems and processes, supporting system enhancements, enabling teams across the Group to adopt and utilise new capabilities, and contributing to successful system implementations.
  • Perform regular reviews of the European insurance financial results, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Group accounting policies, and providing constructive challenge to local processes, assumptions, and controls.
  • Drive high‑quality technical insurance accounting across the Group by working closely with UK and European insurance finance teams, ensuring consistent and robust application of IFRS requirements and providing technical guidance, review, and challenge to enhance methodologies, processes, and controls.
  • Support the external audit process by coordinating audit requests, preparing supporting documentation and analysis, and assisting in resolving technical accounting queries.
  • Support wider Group Finance activities by contributing to cross‑functional projects, providing technical advice, and completing ad‑hoc tasks and analysis as required.
