We are looking for an ambitious finance business partner to join our UK Motor Finance team, based in Cardiff, to provide financial, commercial and operational support to Admiral's Claims and Pricing departments and to develop the finance team's capabilities in monitoring, projecting and reporting on loss ratio. This is a role that provides an opportunity to improve finance's view of a key driver of Admiral's performance, develop in-depth knowledge of the business and become a subject matter expert whilst building relationships with senior management across Admiral and influencing business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of the insurance market, Admiral's offerings, their financial drivers, and the associated operational activities.
- Build strong working relationships with managers across the business particularly in claims and pricing departments as well as our actuarial teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of our current loss ratio models with a view to enhance our current capabilities.
- Develop & deliver monthly reporting routines.
- Play a leading role in the annual, and quarterly planning processes, owning key models and preparing presentations and analysis for Senior Management, translating complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Provide business case support to aid management decision making.
- Designing, building, and delivering new financial models aligned with our strategic goals and emerging business needs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Qualified accountant (3+ Years PQE) with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with, and influence, stakeholders effectively.
- Commercial outlook, with experience of preparing business cases, business plans and detailed financial analysis and reports.
- Experience of insurance accounting would be highly beneficial.
- Naturally inquisitive and keen to learn, with a strong desire to understand the "why" behind financial data, business trends, and industry developments.
- Experience of developing and maintaining financial models.
- Self-motivator, pro-active in all aspects of the role.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential, and proficiency in PowerPoint. Anaplan experience would be beneficial.
