The Performance Marketing Lead is responsible for the hands-on delivery, optimisation and scaling of paid acquisition, with a clear centre of gravity in Paid Search and the capability to execute and develop Paid Social as the channel mix evolves. This is a doer role, accountable for building, managing and optimising campaigns day to day in a high-intent environment.
Responsibilities
- Paid Search ownership
- Own strategy and day-to-day execution across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Apple Search Ads
- Audit, restructure and optimise account structure, keywords, bidding and match types
- Drive acquisition volume, CPA efficiency and ROI
- Optimise beyond first conversion with LTV and business impact in mind
- Test and scale Performance Max, YouTube for Performance and new platform features
- Paid Social execution
- Build, manage and optimise Paid Social campaigns (Meta, TikTok or similar)
- Test Paid Social as a scalable acquisition lever
- Provide performance evidence to support future channel/team growth
- Work with creative to test audiences, formats and messaging
- Optimisation, testing & insight
- Run ongoing experimentation across targeting, bidding and creative
- Analyse performance data to identify optimisation opportunities
- Turn data into actionable recommendations
- Share learnings to inform wider acquisition and conversion strategy
- Creative & messaging
- Write, test and refine high-performing ad copy
- Brief and iterate creative with content and design teams
- Ensure messaging aligns with user intent
- Technical excellence & tracking
- Ensure accurate tracking, attribution and data integrity
- Troubleshoot tracking and attribution issues with analytics, web ops and product
- Maintain confidence in performance reporting and decision-making
About you
Essential experience:
- Strong hands-on Paid Search experience (Google Ads essential)
- Experience with Microsoft Ads and/or Apple Search Ads
- Proven track record of improving acquisition performance
- Experience personally building and optimising campaigns end to end
- Paid Social execution experience (hands-on, not oversight only)
- Strong analytical capability and comfort working with performance data
- Experience operating in high-intent or regulated environments
Desirable experience:
- Insurance, fintech or other regulated industry experience
- Experience scaling monthly budgets profitably
- Familiarity with Performance Max and YouTube for Performance
- Platform certifications (Google Ads or similar)
