The Department

Our Facilities and Estates Department are responsible for looking after our facilities across all our sites – Villa Park, Bodymoor Heath Training Ground and our Brookvale Inner City Academy. The Club are continuing our rapid growth trajectory both on and off the pitch including the development and expansion of our sites and facilities. The team are vital in this journey supporting the major redevelopment work across all Club sites, enabling our day-to-day operations and matchdays to happen ensuring all our facilities are maintained to the highest standard possible.

The Role

You will deliver a broad range of carpentry and maintenance tasks to support the upkeep, safety and presentation of the stadium. This will include constructing, installing and repairing structures; carrying out tasks such as hanging doors, fitting skirting, cabinetry, shelving, flooring and roofing; and completing routine and preventative maintenance work.

You will be able to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications and develop and implement a rolling plan of maintenance work on existing structures. You will also support with wider Facilities and Maintenance tasks as and when required.

The Person

You will need to hold a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification in Carpentry or an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery. You must also have proven experience as a carpenter and working in a fast-paced environment under pressure whilst multi-tasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will need the ability to assess a problem, develop solutions and make a sound decision in line with health and safety legislation and best practice.

You must hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle to travel between our Club sites as and when required. An essential part of this role will be being available and willing to work flexible hours as the Club requires, this will include working all Men’s First Team home matches, evenings, weekends and any other events hosted by the Club.
