Location: Corby, UK. The role involves overseeing the workshop operation and maintaining the company vehicle fleet in accordance with Fleet Engineer and Department of Transport standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental legislation.

Your Responsibilities

• Liaising with the distribution manager to achieve planned maintenance/servicing of company-operated vehicles.
• Organise the workshop throughput and control work levels, ensuring the most economical use of manpower and facility resources.
• Ensure that all vehicles are maintained to the standards set by the Fleet Engineer, implementing updates on legislative changes.
• Inform the distribution department of any vehicle downtime likely to affect operations.
• Organise MOT preparation and bookings, liaising with distribution for vehicle release in time for requested reorganisation.
• Maintain all vehicle records including defect reports.
• Ensure that maintenance is carried out in the most economical manner, especially when deciding between repair or replacement.
• Arrange outside repair services such as warranty work, specialist repairs, tyre servicing and other items in consultation with the Fleet Engineer.
• Ensure all workshop equipment is kept in safe working condition as required by legislation.

Your Profile

• Familiarity with common Microsoft applications.
• Competent at vehicle diagnostics.
• Understanding of DoT operating methods and procedures.
• LGV licence (preferred).
• Knowledge of bulk tanker pressure systems.
• GSCE educated, with grade C or above in mathematics and English or equivalent.
• City & Guilds in Motor Vehicle Engineering or recognised equivalent qualification.
• Certificate of professional competence in Road Transport (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable vehicle workshop experience.
